Section 01

Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to StepUp Hire. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and StepUp Hire ("Company") regarding your use of our website, platform, and recruitment services.

By accessing or using our services in any manner — including browsing our website, submitting a form, registering an account, or engaging with our team — you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

⚠️ If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please discontinue your use of StepUp Hire's platform and services immediately.

Eligibility

To use StepUp Hire's services, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age
  • You must be legally authorised to work in India or the country where you seek employment
  • For companies: You must be a legally registered business entity or authorised representative
  • For colleges: You must be an accredited educational institution with authority to enter into partnerships
  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and throughout use

StepUp Hire reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who does not meet these eligibility criteria or who violates these Terms.

Section 03

Services Offered

StepUp Hire provides the following recruitment and career services:

  • Talent Acquisition — Connecting companies with pre-screened, qualified candidates for permanent, contract, and temporary roles
  • Candidate Placement — Assisting job seekers in finding suitable employment opportunities aligned with their skills and career goals
  • Campus Recruitment — Facilitating placement drives and campus hiring programs for colleges and universities
  • Recruiter Partnership — Enabling independent recruiters to collaborate on client hiring projects
  • Career Counselling — Providing guidance to candidates on career paths, resume building, and interview preparation
Important: StepUp Hire acts as an intermediary and does not guarantee placement, employment, or any specific outcome. Final hiring decisions rest entirely with the employer.

Section 04

User Obligations

All users of StepUp Hire agree to the following obligations regardless of user type:

  • Provide truthful, accurate, and complete information at all times
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and notify us immediately of any unauthorised access
  • Not misrepresent your identity, qualifications, company, or any other material information
  • Use the platform solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
  • Not attempt to circumvent StepUp Hire's placement process to avoid service fees
  • Promptly notify us of any changes to your information that may affect your eligibility or our services

Section 05

Employer / Company Terms

Engagement & Fees

  • Employers agree to pay the agreed service fee upon successful placement of a candidate introduced by StepUp Hire
  • Fee structures will be confirmed in a separate Service Agreement prior to commencement of hiring
  • Non-payment of fees may result in suspension of services and legal recovery proceedings

Replacement Guarantee

  • If a placed candidate leaves within the agreed guarantee period, StepUp Hire will provide a replacement search at no additional fee
  • The replacement guarantee applies only when full payment has been received and the candidate's departure was not due to employer actions

Data Confidentiality

  • Employers must keep all candidate profiles, resumes, and personal data strictly confidential
  • Candidate data shared by StepUp Hire may only be used for the specific hiring requirement for which it was shared
  • Unauthorised redistribution of candidate data is a violation of these Terms and applicable data protection law

Candidate Terms

  • Candidates must provide accurate and up-to-date information including qualifications, work experience, and skill sets
  • Submission of false documents, fraudulent qualifications, or misrepresentation will result in immediate disqualification and may lead to legal action
  • Candidates consent to StepUp Hire sharing their profile with relevant employer clients for placement purposes
  • StepUp Hire's services are currently 100% free for candidates. No fees are charged to job seekers for placement
  • Candidates must attend scheduled interviews and inform StepUp Hire promptly if unable to attend
  • Accepting a job offer and subsequently withdrawing without valid reason may affect future assistance

Section 07

College Partnership Terms

  • Colleges entering into a campus partnership with StepUp Hire agree to the terms outlined in a separate Partnership Agreement
  • Colleges must provide accurate student data only with the informed written consent of students
  • StepUp Hire will conduct campus drives subject to availability of suitable employer requirements at the time
  • StepUp Hire does not guarantee a minimum number of placements for any campus partnership engagement
  • Colleges must not disclose confidential employer information shared during the campus placement process

Section 08

Intellectual Property

All content on the StepUp Hire platform — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, and software — is the exclusive property of StepUp Hire or its licensors and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

  • You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written consent
  • The StepUp Hire name, logo, and brand marks are registered trademarks and may not be used without permission
  • Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you submit to us may be used by StepUp Hire without obligation or compensation

Section 09

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StepUp Hire shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of our services
  • Loss of employment opportunities, revenue, data, or business resulting from reliance on our platform
  • Actions, omissions, or conduct of employers, candidates, or third parties facilitated through our platform
  • Technical disruptions, system failures, or unauthorised access to user data beyond our reasonable control
  • Accuracy of information provided by employers or candidates on the platform
Maximum Liability: In no event shall StepUp Hire's total liability to any party exceed the amount paid by that party to StepUp Hire in the 3 months preceding the claim.

Section 10

Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on the StepUp Hire platform:

  • Posting fake job openings, fraudulent company profiles, or misleading requirements
  • Harvesting or scraping candidate, employer, or college data from our platform
  • Using automated bots, scripts, or tools to access or interact with our platform
  • Attempting to bypass our security systems or gain unauthorised access to any account
  • Spreading false information, defamatory content, or misinformation about any party
  • Discriminating against candidates based on caste, religion, gender, age, or disability
  • Using our platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination and may expose you to civil or criminal liability under Indian law.

Section 11

Termination

StepUp Hire reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to our services at any time, with or without notice, for reasons including:

  • Violation of these Terms and Conditions
  • Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal behaviour on or off the platform
  • Non-payment of agreed service fees by employers
  • Providing false or materially misleading information at any stage

Upon termination, your right to use our platform ceases immediately. Any outstanding payment obligations remain fully in effect after termination.

Section 12

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act 2000 and the Contract Act 1872.

  • Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation
  • If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India
  • Both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing formal litigation
